Heidi Handmade Local and Handmade creations made with love. I am Heidi, creator of Heidi Handmade. My range began as a creative outlet for me. Things that were made of heart.

After years in a office environment, I found I was so much more creative than I had ever realised and I started painting. When my kids came along, it became difficult to paint without interruption and so I needed to find a new way to get my creative fix. I started sewing things for my kids. Drawing inspiration from my childhood memories, I started making things I wanted my kids to have. Things I

couldn't find in the shops. Treasures that were unique and sentimental. I am inspired by everything around me. By life and a love of colour and texture. I love the process of taking an idea and working with it to creating something special. Everything is 100% made by me! I source my fabrics locally and love the hunt for just the right fabric. Honestly, I love buying and collecting fabrics. My range is always changing. My need to create is at times all consuming, so there are always ideas growing into something new to buy. Check back often. I try to make products that are useful and thoughtful. Something unique and special. Something made with love.

Oh my goodness - this is one of the cutest things I've made in a while! So proud of my work on this little guy. I joined the creative class this morning at school. A great bunch of ladies, a fantastic teacher and a beautiful space to be crafty. I've been a bit scared to try forest animals but look how it turned out. So ready to do more!

It's been a creative few days. Taught some first timers knitting yesterday. Learn some needle felting tricks today and tomorrow I get to teach hand embroidery to some of our parents at school. So much fun!

So this pic popped up on my feed today. Seems it has been about 8 years since I first started making and selling my microwave heating packs. All this time and I still make them just the same way. They work! We still use them daily in our home. Don't always get as much time to sew these days (kids keep me busy) but i think it's time to get working on some more.
