"Is it real biltong?" No. It just looks exactly like it.
"Does it smell like biltong?" No, thankfully. Your car would be a problem.
"How much is it?" R110.
"Can people actually mistake it for real biltong?" Every single time. That's the whole point.

💐Happy National Women's Day to every woman doing it her own way today. The ones running households, running businesses, running marathons before anyone else is awake, or just running late and still showing up anyway.

Today is about the women who carry everything and somehow still find room to laugh at the small stuff, like a keyring that looks exactly like biltong.

Biltong 101. A few things about the real stuff you probably didn't know.

1. It's not the same as jerky. Jerky is cooked and dehydrated. Biltong is cured and air dried, no heat involved.
2. The name comes from Dutch, "bil" (rump) and "tong" (strip).
3. It was a way to preserve meat on long treks, long before fridges existed. 🥩

Now you know. Our keyring version skips the curing process entirely. It just sits on your keys and looks the part.

I watched this happen the other day. 👀

Someone noticed it on a set of keys and just paused for a second, like their brain was trying to figure out what it was looking at. They didn’t say anything at first, just leaned in a bit closer and then eventually went, “…is that biltong?”

Before anyone could answer, they were already reaching for it, fully committed to the situation like there was a real chance this might actually be a snack.

And the owner just stood there, said nothing, and let the whole thing play out.

It’s that exact moment every time.
