Suspect arrested for possession of prohibited firearm, ammunition, hijacked vehicle, reckless and negligent driving and attack on police.

The vigilance by Harare police members led to the arrest of a 29-year-old suspect, the recovery of a hijacked vehicle and two fi****ms with ammunition after a high speed chase earlier today in Khayelitsha.

The members were busy with patrols when they spotted the hijacked vehicle in Steve Biko Street, Endlovini. The suspects started shooting at the members who retaliated by returning fire. The vehicle came to a standstill after it collided with a concrete wall. Two suspects managed to evade arrest while one suspect was apprehended.

A 9mm pistol and a revolver with ammunition with no serial numbers and cellular telephones were found in the vehicle.
