I cannot tell you how chuft we are to see this from UCook! For years we've been collecting their boxes, polystyrene and ice packs and I have always said I would approach them about taking their packaging back with each delivery. Now it is being done! Yay! 🎉

It's been a while since we updated this page! Where does the time go? Well, a lot of time is currently being spent on re-thinking the way Recycle Rachel does things and there are some exciting (we think!) changes coming!

Firstly, we are looking into giving our clients reusable bags to put your recycling into. This will mean that we are not "adding" to the plastic problem that is so prevalent.

Secondly, we are also doing research into where the recycling we collect is actually going. This may mean that we find out some items that we think are recyclable are not actually being recycled! But if that's the case, then we will find a way to reuse these items.

Recycle Rachel aims to be the most reputable, responsible and reliable recycling service in Cape Town and we would like to thank all our clients for being on this journey with us. 😊

Sea turtles often mistake plastic for their food - jellyfish - and suffocate. 😔

I have to say that Ticha and I have been blessed to do many happy dances over the past two months. Thank YOU ALL for supporting a small business that began with a handful of clients whose recycling I used to collect in my Hyundai Getz. Now I am able to give Ticha a stable salaried job while we continue to save the planet one bag at a time! Thank you from both of us for recycling and for your support...☺️

Wow! What a month May was! I really never saw this coming. Am blessed to have been able to get a permit and to have so many new people signing up for our services. And a huge thanks to all of you out there who recommended Rachel Rachel. It's been a wild ride, but I think we're doing OK!

Here's to even more bags being saved from the dump in June! 😊
