A little peek into our week.

Fresh paint on the studio walls, pangolin bowls heading all the way to Botswana, new glaze colours landing and Neo, our studio cat overseeing it all.

My mom has been my biggest supporter and also a huge inspiration.

She was my Art teacher all the way through primary school. She kept me engaged in creating through high school and Art school. She was super into Art therapy and we used to free paint.
"Try not to think too hard, just let it flow."

She's helped me think through so many ideas for products and design. She used to wear my clothing brand that I started in 1993 while I was in Art school. She still wears my glass jewellery range, which I started in 2000.

She has drawn all my fynbos illustrations through the years, starting in 2008 until now. 18 years!

She shaped my small vase and giraffe and protea bottle stoppers out of lumps of clay for the launch of my ceramic range, which we opened at Design Indaba 2008.

She's always available for me to run ideas past, although to be fair she loves all my ideas... maybe because she's my mom. 🤍

There’s something about a bright kitchen, a few wildflowers, and a meerkat standing watch on a ceramic vase that just makes a morning feel a little more alive. This little guy is one of our favourite creatures to illustrate - curious, upright, always watching. He looks pretty good with wildflowers, we think 🌿
