.•BIG GAME SILICONE BAITFISH•.
This is the big game version of our silicone bait fish fly which has been beefed up to two size options: 12-14cm & 14-16cm. We have incorporated premo hackle feathers in the tail for that extra length and movement. We have also beefed up on the hook option for these to Tiemco SP600 2/0 & 3/0 or Gama SL12S 4/0 or 6/0. The big game silicone is intended for larger fresh & salt water specimens. Can be fished on the surface or sub-surface 💪💪💪.

This is one of our favourite patterns and is killer for so many species. The silicone baitfish pattern has been around for while, but we do take the time to tie them in a specific way: we stack and sculpt fibre to build the specific head shape with flat bottom and rounded nose followed by two layers of marine silicone- Why? Side to side action! When fished properly this fly has a killer subsurface side to side (walk the dog) action. This fly can be fished on the surface, sub surface or a combo of both! It’s also an extremely durable fly. Great for targeting Leerie, Tiger Fish, and pretty much anything that eats a baitfish! We do them in a range of different sizes, colours and hook choices for salt and fresh application. 👊.

.•BIG GAME FRESH STELLA•.
This version Stella was developed for, and tested on BIG Tanzania Tiger Fish, but is applicable to a number of fresh water big game species. Tied on Tiemco SP600 hooks as is necessary for hooking and holding big hard mouthed species! We do two sizes, 2/0 SP600 (12-14cm) and 3/0 (16-18cm). A great pattern for targeting bigger jungle specimens too, like golden dorado & peacock bass!

These are is the biggest we have got to! The 6/0 & 8/0 versions coming in at 14-16cm and 16-18cm in length respectively. Tied on 6/0 & 8/0 Gamakatsu SL12S hooks, and appropriate size custom OG Stella Heads, these guys have a big profile but are light enough to cast👊 Definitely designed and tested around targeting GT’s but will graft and hold up on a number of big game salt water species 👊👊👊.

.•4/0 BIG GAME SALT STELLA•.
After the success of the original Stella we put some time and testing into the “Big Game Stella” to make it more applicable to bigger specimen salt water species. It was vital to scale things up proportionally to allow for a bigger profile that maintains the same Stella action. We bumped up the hook sizes, custom OG Stella heads, and have incorporated premo hackle feathers into the tail section. The 4/0 version comes in at 12-14cm in length and is tied on on Gamakatsu SL12 - 4/0 hook. This version is ideal for larger specimen Leerie but has been smashing a number of other Jack species. This is very versatile size that can be used for anything from Trevally to Rooster Fish! .

.•2/0 SALT STELLA•.
This version of the Stella Fly, now tied with the Custom OG Stella Heads, is essentially where it began. It was designed for Leerie/Leerfish/Leervis that were not committing to the usual topwater flies, and thus the original Stella was born. Tied on a 2/0 Gamakatsu SL12S and in the 10-12cm size range this version is the go-to for targeting Leerie. It has also been proving itself on a number of other estuarine and coastal species🤟 The range comes in a selection of salt water applicable colour combos and tied on appropriate salt water hooks. From here we have developed the “Big Game Stella” range which we will be introducing in the next few days- stay tuned! .

A closer look at the process putting together the standard OG Fresh Stella with the new OG Stella Heads. Tied on Gamakatsu B10S Stinger for standard tiger fish and other similar class fresh water species🤟The standard fresh Stella size and hook is aimed at Tigers in the 0-15lb range typically targeted on the Zambezi, Okavango and Pongola fisheries. .•WE HAVE BEEN BUSY•.
It has been a while since posting anything and that has been for good reason. Over the past year or so, we have been focused on developing (and testing!)our OG Fly Studio range of flies. It has been a long process, developing and improving fly patterns in terms of size, colour, materials, hook choice etc. With so many species and destinations, all with their own nuances, we have tried our best to put in the due diligence required to offer a comprehensive and quality range of purpose driven flies. Testing and research into the patterns has been essential and with guides and clients helping out around the globe on various species and in various destinations this has been a productive process. Thanks to all involved - you know who you are 🙏We will continue the process of development, but we are now ready to put forward the range we have settled on at this point. The OG Fly Studio Website will go live in the coming weeks where the full range can be viewed and made available to the public to order. Leading up to the launch we will be posting pics of some of the flies in the range to wet your appetite. To start, here a few snaps of the improved OG Stella Fly tied with our custom fabricated OG Stella Heads: this is the 2/0 Gamakatsu B10S version designed for standard tiger fish, but applicable to a number of fresh water species. Keep an eye out for posts sowing the other variants of Stella flies ranging all the way up to 8/0 Big Game Stella’s. Thanks for all the support & looking forward to sharing our range with you👊👊👊.

will be whipping up one of his favourite and most successful Garrick patterns and show you exactly how he loves tying it.

This is a tie along event, so be sure to bring your tools and vices. If you don't have tying tools but have always wanted to give it a swing, get in touch and we'll sort you out.

The guys from the Zandvlei Recreational Angling Association will also be there to share what they've been working on as well as how you can get involved to help protect this unique fishery.
