Whether you're a passionate collector, an experienced gardener, or simply love beautiful flowers, this is an event not to be missed.

Did you know that Heckers hosts a Pesticide Recycling Day every last Saturday of the month?

This ongoing initiative, in partnership with CropLife SA, provides a safe and responsible way to dispose of unwanted home garden pesticides and their packaging. It's a project we've proudly been running for some time to help protect people, pets and the environment.

We are a collection point for:
✅ Leftover home garden pesticides
✅ Clean, empty home garden pesticide packaging
✅ Contaminated home garden pesticide packaging

Please note:
🚫 No packaging or leftover pesticides in containers larger than 5 kg or 5 litres will be accepted.

Remember, pesticides should never be thrown into your normal household bin. They need to be disposed of correctly to protect our environment.

Join us every last Saturday of the month, from 9am to 4pm, and help us keep our communities cleaner and greener.

We are pet-friendly! 🐾🌿

At Heckers, we love welcoming our four-legged visitors. There's nothing better than seeing happy pups exploring the garden centre and enjoying a day out with their families. Pets are part of the family, and they're always welcome here! 🐶🐱💚

To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, we kindly ask:

🐾 Please keep all pets on a leash. Our weekends can get busy, and leashes help prevent pets from getting lost, feeling overwhelmed, or wandering into another dog's space.

🐾 If your pet isn't comfortable around other animals or busy environments, they may be happier relaxing at home.

💦 You'll also find a doggie water bowl at our veggie section, so your furry friend can stay cool and refreshed while you shop.

We can't wait to meet your furry family members and make some special memories together at Heckers! 🐕🌸

A little licorice in the garden! 😉 🌿

Licorice Grass has lovely bright green leaves and gives off a fresh licorice smell when you rub or crush them.

It’s an easy plant to grow and works well in pots, along borders or near water features. Keep the soil moist and it will happily grow in sun or light shade.

Cymbidiums make a stunning gift for someone special, or the perfect addition to your own home. 💚

To keep your orchid thriving:
🌿 Place it in bright, indirect light.
💧 Water sparingly, as overwatering can cause root rot.
🪴 Repot every 2 to 3 years using a quality orchid mix.

❗ Orchid tip: Never water your orchid with ice cubes. They prefer room temperature water to keep their roots healthy.
