Well hey there, Friends!

How have you been?

Life for me lately has been one part busy with enjoying the grands and the day to day... and one part lazy as Robyn & I just celebrated our 30th anniversary with a getaway to Mexico. Unfortunately we both were quite sick with colds before we left, "enjoyed" them immensely while we were there, and are still both not quite back to normal, so that's been an adventure.

These days I'm both missing sewing and feeling no pull towards it whatsoever. It's disheartening. I'm hoping the desire returns, or maybe a nudge in a new direction is around the corner for me creativity.

I will say that I'm participating in Yarrow Days this Saturday, with both my Dad and Daughter as fellow vendors, and we're really looking forward to it! I'd love it if you come out, say hi, and give me a good kick in the creative posterior because I sure could use it!

Mother's Day is just around the corner, and a copy of Up at Gabby's House is much longer lasting than a bouquet of flowe...

Mother's Day is just around the corner, and a copy of Up at Gabby's House is much longer lasting than a bouquet of flowers.

The idea for Up at Gabby's House came to me not long after my Mom passed away on Mother's Day 2022. I was grieving and I was reminiscing, and searching my mind for memories just brought so much peace. Before the book was even fully underway, I had little verses and snippets running through my mind, I couldn't write them down fast enough, and the idea that was forming made me so excited. I knew it had to happen.

Mother's Day feels very very different for me now. I wish I could have shared my book with my Mom. But I truly know that she knows it was accompanied.

"I lost my Mom on Mother's Day, she would have loved this book
But I know she's peeking down from heaven for a look"

If you'd like a copy or two of Up at Gabby's House for your Mom, your Grandma, your best friend... I can make it happen! I PROMISE it will bring a smile to their faces as they read and reminisce 📖

So I bought a new summer shirt from Old Navy the other day, and it's an apron style tank. I got it in denim and absolutely love it. Yesterday, with my severe lack of clothing sewing skills, I decided to try to reproduce it... Holly Hobbie themed of course! I learned as I went, bounced some questions off my daughter, and am pretty pleased with the result!
Will I actually wear it?
Hopefully!

🌿 the Holly Hobbie panel is vintage, from a bedsheet, and I lined that portion of the front
🌿 the 94 scrappy surrounding pieces are mostly Bonnie and Camille fabric scraps from my overflowing stash
🌿 the sweet aqua gingham fabric was thrifted




Any guesses what I'm making today?(Keep your fingers crossed that it turns out 🤞🏼)
