Pretty POM was created to fill a specific void in the retail industry, because all too often, the likeness and/or depiction of little girls with textured hair and brown skin are underrepresented in available apparel and decor selections. A young girl's self-image is surely influenced by their environment, and in many ways, how their likeness is represented (or lack thereof). Through positive and empowering imagery, (and trendy apparel/decor), we can inspire self-affirmation in little girls of color, while promoting tolerance, awareness and cultural diversity among all.
