There’s something pretty special about a view like this. 😍

My new bedroom windows have quickly become my favourite spot in this new ol' farmhouse. A beautiful reminder that the longer you wait for something the more you appreciate it when you work hard to get it!

I could get very used to waking up to seeing this view every day, I cannot wait until the house is finished and this is my view in the morning, every single morning 🥰

After two weeks of basically being on bed rest, told to take it easy and keep my leg up, we are back at it and ready to get 💩 done around here!!!

We've made so much progress around here this year and I have such a good feeling this is our year! As The seasons change and the kids graduate and grow up to move onto whatever life has in store for them; Farmer G and I continue to build our future here on the farm! Some times it's big things, some times it's little things but one thing we have to keep in mind is that no matter how big or small the task they are all important things!

Sometimes living with nature is not all that it's cracked up to BEE!!! 🐝

I love that we have our LGDs and can live in harmony with the majority of wildlife around the farm without having to take matters into our own hands. Sadly, they do not prevent bee attacks 😢

This is the second, technically third, time that I have been stung within the week.

Last week Tom was having a tough go after a horrible rain and we had to relocate him to the gosling tractor to get better *no geese were in it*
Today, I set a plastic container back where I picked it up from and let me tell you, I was not expecting what came next.

Waiting to ensure now allergic reactions then I'll get back to watering the pigs. Just very thankful these little buggers didn't come out earlier when my friends were here with their little boys 🫣 tomorrow's task will be finding and relocating these guys.

Taking the girls to their next pasture is so easy when they love you 🥰

No food needed to get these ladies to follow me. Although I'm sure they were expecting some treats, but instead they got a new area to enjoy for the next 2 weeks 😅

Pigs are happy, farmer is happy... now tomorrow I will be onto checking the electric fencing on the goats next pasture to make sure no moose have run through it during the winter.

Had a craving for an egg salad sandwich when I woke up this morning so all these eggs had a bath and jumped in the pot!

Egg salad is a craving food for me, I don't really love it but every once in a while I just have to have one. Hard boiled eggs on the other hand I really do enjoy as a midday snack, and of course I have to make some pickled eggs for Farmer G.

I have found with farm fresh eggs it's best to use eggs nearing 3-4 weeks age so we alway have eggs on the back of the counter waiting to become a delicious treat.

These eggs boil up perfectly and peel to perfection every time.

The way I make them is by loading my pot full of eggs, adding water and putting on high on the stove top. Once they come to a rolling boiling I start my timer for 11 minutes. When the timer goes off I turn off the stove but leave them on the element for another 11 minutes. Once that time has passed I take them off the stove and drain the water. Giving them a cold water bath and then we're done and ready to enjoy.

Farm Fresh Eggs are the best, in my opinion, and I love being able to supply other families with these beautiful nutritious eggs!

Again, my opinion, everyone should have access to healthy homegrown meats, produce and milks (even though selling or even giving away that last one is illegal in Canada 🙄 I don't think it should be but that's a rant for another time). We are very blessed to have been able to work hard towards our goal of self sufficiency and although we still aren't where we want to be we are very grateful to be where we are. And we are so grateful to be in a place where we can offer the many benefits of Farm Fresh Foods to our friends and family. It's the little things like that that fill my heart with absolute joy!
