We have a large collection of original drawings (and color drawings) by Eduardo Vernazza, most of which were published in the Sunday supplement of the newspaper “El Día.” Actors, actresses, gaucho scenes, among others from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.

👉 Eduardo Vernazza (Montevideo, October 13, 1910 - May 26, 1991) was a Uruguayan artist.
He studied drawing with Marcelino Buscasso and took sculpture classes with Severino Pose at the Círculo de Bellas Artes. He frequented José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín’s studio and produced illustrations for Mundo Uruguayo and other magazines. He was a cartoonist for the newspaper El Día, where he also worked as an art critic.
The themes of his works include flowers, still lifes, domestic animals, portraits and self-portraits, circus themes, seascapes, various landscapes, scenes of Montevideo with its fairs, squares, streets, theater, candombe, and popular characters. His oeuvre includes paintings and more than 2,000 drawings.

“Po Po”
Collectible football player pins. Made of lithographed metal.
URUGUAY (1930s)

Very difficult to find even in Uruguay.

In some cases, the numbering (written in letters) can be seen behind each one.

There is little information available about this series, which is from the “Po Po” brand from the 1930s, but the exact date is unknown. Along with those of Club Nacional, Racing and Wanderers, badges were also made for Peñarol, Bella Vista, Defensor, Rampla AND Rivera.

Etsy will be closing shops of sellers who cannot utilize Etsy Payments as of August 5, 2025. This is because Etsy is standardizing its payment processing to exclusively use Etsy Payments, phasing out the previous option of using PayPal for payments. Sellers in regions where Etsy Payments are not yet available (🇺🇾 Uruguay 😞) will need to transition to alternative platforms…

So I decided to migrate my store “Vintage in Spanish” to Ebay.

But before the closing in ETSY I would like to offer a gift to all of you who have supported this small venture located in Montevideo Uruguay.
Since 6 years ago and with more than 600 sales I have sent a lot of prints, advertisements and sports products to different parts of the world, even in the Covid pandemic.
With just over 600 sales and excellent reviews, I am very grateful to all of you!

Now comes a time of transition and relearning about this new platform. “Vintage in Spanish” is not closing, but ‘moving’ from Etsy to Ebay. But first and as a way of thanking you I want to offer you a HUGE 20% OFF ON THE ENTIRE SHOP.

Use coupon: 20BEFORELEAVE on all items you wish to purchase from my store on ETSY until the end of July. Remember that I can combine you to pay only one shipment (just write me before).

I have a lot of items to upload. Write me if you are looking for something in particular that you can’t find.

Remember, this discount will not be repeated. This is the ideal time to get that particular gift for that dear friend or family member. And to the collectors: you know it’s also time to take advantage of this coupon!

🙌 Thank you very much and Vamo’arriba Uruguay!
