Thank you to everyone who stopped by during our Sallie Tomato Open House Saturday.

It was wonderful seeing so many familiar faces, meeting new sewists and welcoming Shop Hoppers making their way through West Michigan, sharing ideas, answering questions, and exploring all the possibilities of bag making together.

A special thank you to Certified Sallie Tomato Educator Shauna Walwood for sharing her knowledge, inspiration, and enthusiasm throughout the day.

We also loved welcoming so many visitors during the All Michigan Shop Hop. Thank you for making Birtles Fabrics part of your quilting adventure.

It starts today. All Michigan Shop Hop West Region Weekend is here!

We'll have special hours this weekend to welcome Shop Hoppers traveling through West Michigan—and to give our local customers a little extra time to shop, too.

That stunning Hollow Star quilt hanging at Birtles Fabrics? It was made right here — and you could make one too.

The Hollow Star is a modern take on the six-pointed star, designed by Krista Moser as a beginner-to-intermediate project. With the help of the Creative Grids 60° Diamond Ruler and instructor Susan McDermott, this design comes together more smoothly than you'd expect.

She's done. 🧵

A few weeks ago we showed you Mindy's quilt top — made entirely from the 2026 All Michigan Shop Hop fabric line. Today it's back from our long arm service, fully quilted, and hanging on the wall at Birtles Fabrics.

Look at those quilting lines moving across the water fabric. The sailboats. The fish. The Michigan icons border. She used the Sheryl pattern by Villa Rosa Designs — and the way these Michigan fabrics come to life in it is something else.
