Collectors question of the day: When having cards graded, we all need to submit our cards in Ultra Pro sleeves or a similar brand sleeve. It is not like these sleeves are free or government handouts for card collectors. That said, why do collectors receive a cash credit for the cost of sleeves sent submitted the graders? What do the graders do with our sleeves? Why do they not return them with the graded cards? Are they selling them on a secondary market? Using them? Throwing them away? Perhaps collectors and manufacturers should start looking into the disposition of these sleeves after graders receive them. We are talking thousands upon thousands of sleeves on an annual basis. This adds up to quite a profitable sum for graders who are receiving sleeves at zero cost. Inquiring collectors want to know.
