Every child’s journey looks different....and that’s exactly how it should be.

In these early years, progress isn’t about comparing one child to another or checking boxes on someone else’s timeline. It’s about recognizing their strengths, their growth, and the little victories that are BIG victories for them.

Meet them where they are today.
Celebrate every step forward.
And always believe in what’s possible. 💙

At Connections, we’re honored to be part of the journey.

💙Occupational Therapy Openings Available at Connections! 💙

Connections is currently welcoming new children for Occupational Therapy services at our clinic location! And, yes! We accept many Medical Assistance plans too!

Our pediatric OT team works with children to build important everyday skills in a fun, supportive, and engaging environment. Therapy can support children with:
✨ Sensory needs
✨ Fine motor development
✨ Emotional regulation
✨ Feeding and self-help skills
✨ Coordination and motor planning
Every child develops differently, and we are here to support families every step of the way. 🌟

📸 Sometimes the BEST language tools are already in your camera roll!

Want to encourage more language at home? You don’t need fancy flashcards, expensive toys, or perfectly made communication books.

Use what your child already knows and loves. 💛

Make a little book with pictures of:
• Family members and friends
• Teachers and classmates
• Favorite toys or characters
• Pets
• Favorite foods
• Places you visit often

You can even save the wrapper or package from a favorite snack and add it to their book!

Then keep it simple: look, point, label, and talk.

“There's Grandma!”
“You love Goldfish!”
“Look, it’s your friend!”
“Daddy is wearing a hat.”

And remember....you don’t have to quiz them or ask them to repeat the words. Just model the language and enjoy looking together.

When something is meaningful to a child, there’s so much more to talk about. 💙

We’re almost there, parents. 😂☀️➡️🎒

Summer is wonderful. More time together, slower mornings, adventures, memories…and also approximately 47 snacks a day, constant questions, sibling negotiations, and hearing “I’m bored” five minutes after you planned something fun. 😅

So here’s your end-of-summer reminder:

You can love your kids AND be ready for them to go back to school.

Looking forward to a quiet cup of coffee, getting back into a routine, or simply having a few hours where no one needs you for something doesn’t make you a bad parent.

We love our kids fiercely. And sometimes, we’re also ready for that school bus. 💛

Hang in there! We’re almost through summer!

“Kids do well if they can.” — Dr. Ross Greene

Such a simple statement. Such an important shift in perspective. 💛

When a child is struggling, it can be easy to see the behavior first.

But what if instead of asking, “Why won’t they?” we started asking, “What’s making this hard for them?”

Maybe the environment is overwhelming.
Maybe the expectation doesn’t match their developmental level.
Maybe they’re having difficulty communicating what they need.
Maybe their sensory system needs something different.
Maybe they simply don’t have that skill… yet.

Meeting kids where they are means recognizing that every child has a unique brain, unique strengths, and unique support needs.

Our job isn’t to make children fit the environment.

Sometimes, it’s to change the environment, adjust the expectation, offer another way to communicate, or provide the support they need to be successful.

Behavior is communication. Connection comes before correction. And kids do well when they can. 💙

🎓 We celebrate BIG successes around here! 💛

Graduating from Early Intervention is a pretty big deal! And we love getting to celebrate these moments with our Connections kiddos and families!

Early Intervention may end at age three, but your connection with us doesn’t have to. 💙

From our developmental groups and supports to occupational therapy and other programs, we’re proud to keep supporting children and families through their next chapter.

🎓 Here’s to our EI graduates and all the amazing things ahead!

Early Intervention therapists start thinking about how to prepare your family for a successful transition out of services from the very beginning.

Why? Because Early Intervention is all about building your confidence, your skills, and your ability to support your child during everyday routines so that when it’s time to say goodbye to EI, you feel prepared for what comes next. 💛

At Connections, our goal isn’t just to support your child....it’s to empower your whole family along the way.
