What is this “love” of God that we rely on? That God sent His one and only Son to save us from the penalty of our sin. Our inherent human condition is separated from God, but God loved us while we were sinners and provided a way for restoration of fellowship with Him that sin destroyed. That provision is Jesus Christ.
How do we do this? We understand that we need a Savior because we are sinful and we believe that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. We repent of our sin and surrender our entire lives to Jesus as Lord and Savior. We decide to no longer live for ourself and selfish desires but for Him. And then a miraculous divine exchange happens! His shed blood washes us clean, gives us brand new life and God places His powerful Holy Spirit inside of us to help us, guide us and lead us in abundant life. We are now “in Christ!”
And so we now live our lives from a place of receiving Gods love. knowing Gods love, and relying solely on it in every way. It’s a posture of rest not striving. It’s a position of daughter-ship (or sonship) instead of an orphan. And it’s a daily adventure of letting go of walking by sight because we trust Gods ways are higher, better and working altogether for His glory and our good!!
Be encouraged today that you can rest and rely on the faithfulness of God in every season of your life. You can rest in His love—you don’t have to earn it. It’s a free gift just to receive. And it’s for everyone—and it’s the best gift that just keeps getting better the closer you walk with Jesus!!
