First appearance of Catwoman in the silver age! A notable book and relatively overlooked.

Will Fisner's "The Spirit" was one of the great comic strips appearing both in the comic book style fold out sections of the Sunday comics section from 1940 to 1952 (examples below) as well as in comic books.

Who remembers Robert Bell and his ads in the back pages of comics advertising his comic bags for sale? If I recall correctly, he sold these from the late 1960s on into the early 1980s using comic book advertisements!

No back cover, see description:

This book does not have the back cover but that is the only thing missing and does not effect the story! I give the front cover a FrGD 1.5 by itself and the pages and easy VG 4.0 or better. The front cover paper has a very light yellow or cream tint when viewed from the inside (it is nice and supple), the pages are cream to white. I have provided scans/photos of the front cover, inside of front cover and first page, the centerfold pin-up and the last page as well as the CGC .5 grade this book was assigned. I got this book in trade from a collector who said the slab was extremely cracked so he brought it to me in the sealed inner well. To make 100% certain the centerfold pin-up was there I removed it from the inner well. I personally think ones in this grade are much more enjoyable without the slab!

My Comics Shop: Coverless $95, a worse .5 (centerfold missing) $160, a CGC .5 with page 12 missing $292, a .5 with centerfold missing $171.47, a FrGD 1.5 with a more beat front cover overall than this one is $350, a .5 described as ""Interior is complete. Near-complete full-length spine split. Severe cover oxidation."" is $450!
