Finishing up a project for Chico Unified School District today. A standup bass neck broke inside the neck pocket. I needed to remove the other half, reglue them, reinforce them with a 1/2” dowel inside the neck itself, and a hourglass shaped splint along the crack to help prevent the neck separating again. The neck pocket needed to be cleaned up of the old glue and shims needed to be glued in for lost material. The shims needed to be glued in and the neck needed to be straight relative to the saddle and the bridge placement before final gluing. The sound post had to be reset and finally applying an oil finish to match. Hopefully it lasts for years to come for
