When we took the reigns of Woodland’s indie bookstore back in November we knew we wanted a space that put community first.

As renovations continue on our 130 year old building we are strengthening that commitment by making our historic building a dedicated third space on Main. Not just a bookstore, we are building a place for people to relax, to learn, to be their authentic self.

Now we need you.

We are launching The Pleasant Society, our membership for our friends and neighbors to support our little store. Membership gets you exclusive perks, member nights, shopping spree discounts and more. Becoming a member means you are building the community with us and establishing Woodland as a hub for great literature.

Before we open our membership tiers we are looking for a few super supporters that want to join with us to build this space and complete the $25,000 renovation of our space that aims to serve our downtown for generations.

🚨Scholastic survivors wanted! 🚨

This July, our bookstore is proud to be one of 10 bookstores nationwide selected by Scholastic to host an official I Survived historical celebration!

For six weeks leading up to the big day, we’re inviting readers of all ages to join the Pleasant Pheasant Survivor Training Camp—a series of challenges, trivia, activities, and missions inspired by Lauren Tarshis’s bestselling I Survived series.

Will you face shark attacks? Volcanic eruptions? The sinking of the Titanic? Maybe all of the above.

Each week brings a new challenge as we prepare for our biggest family event of the summer—and one of the first major events in our brand-new space!
