π¨π» Bear Sightings on the Rise in Our Community π»π¨
Living in the mountains means sharing our home with wildlife β including bears. Spring's arrival means an uptick in bear activity across the community.
Help keep bears (and people) safe by following these Bear-Aware tips:
β
Trash: Only put garbage out right before pickup, and use bear-resistant containers whenever possible.
β
Lock up: Keep home and vehicle doors locked at night β bears have been known to open doors!
β
Pets & kids: Keep an eye on children and pets when theyβre outdoors, especially in the early morning and evening hours.
β
Grills: Clean BBQ grills thoroughly after each use β the smell can attract curious bears.
β
Bird feeders: Hang feeders high and away from your home; better yet, consider taking them down until winter.
β
No food outside: Donβt leave pet food, coolers, or scented items outdoors.
πΎLetβs all do our part to keep our community and wildlife safe.
