Somehow, I’d never made a quilt for my own bed! Finally remedied that with this gigantic 116” square, modified version of loandbeholdstitchery Celtic Crossing 2.0 quilt pattern.
The square throw in the pattern is 58” square, so I doubled the block size to make the quilt large enough for our king-sized bed. It worked perfectly!
I used fabric from rubystarsociety Heirloom Collection by alexiamarcelleabegg along with RSS Speckled and Bella solids. It’s backed with a linen duvet cover that we stopped using years ago, but I hoarded away, hoping it would be useful one day. 🙌 The batting is quiltersdream Natural Cotton Deluxe and I quilted it on my apqsquilting Millie using the Baptist Sunrise pantograph from thepantoshop_ with superiorthreads So Fine Straw Gold thread.
It’s fresh out of the dryer in the first two pics - and I really had to shove it into the dryer 😆😬 so it’s a little wrinkly. I managed to get my husband and my oldest son outside for some pics just before sunset. You can tell which side has the 6’1” husband and which side has the 5’6” son. 😂 I need him to hurry up and get as tall as his dad for quilt-holding purposes.
