3 days no musky. Big rain stirred the rivers up and on day 4 we took a hike through some thick woods to try a new spot. Missed a freak and a few others.

Obtained this yard stick sized green guy on a Bucktail later that night. Although it distracted me temporarily from the big fish I missed, I woke up grieving that big girl.

Lotta walking the river the last few days at the musky camp. and I tag teamed the shore bank looking for Muskies.

We ran into a few followers and we learned quickly that these fish were oh so incredibly weary. Being above them on shore didn’t help, they’d follow it and as the bait got shallow would proceed to turn off into the depths not to be seen again. As day two was ending, hope was at an all time low and catching a musky seemed almost impossible.

Witching hour drew near and my trusty small dog from kept calling to me from inside of my backpack. I twisted her onto my split ring, made a cast out into the main river, figure eighted, casted upstream about 20 feet off shore and got wrecked by a green river musky!!!! Total team effort and my first Maine musky, and from the wild shoreline at that!

Love fishing with my little brother Arlo and it was cool for us to explore new water and find some fish doing so. Thank you HPM Bucktails for supplying us with some blades for this year.

The bucktail bite next to the glide may be my favorite way to fish muskies. It's all fun honestly, but tossing bucktails this time of year is a great way to cover water and find active fish without dilly dallying.

Hat trick with arlo (lil bro). We had 5 consecutive casts where we had a musky hit or follow. Most were small, but the amount of active fish in this river was crazy to see. Didn’t even see a dang smallie, only Muskies!

Using the Rattle Can from HPM Bucktails made locally in Wisconsin! The fish were choosing it over the trusty mepps number 4 folks…

Muskies during the spawn chew on eachother and fight and swim and run into stuff and go nuts.

Caught a couple of these crazy looking warrior fish last week in boat. One came on a Manatee and the other on a Bucktail.

Big chunky long snouted northern pike I caught on a quick stop. I promise you there's almost always time for a couple of casts. I did just this and was greeted with an upper 30 inch almost 40 incher on the flyrod.

Even though I was stopping for a short period of time, I still grabbed my long nose pliers and my hook cutters ;).

10 weight Salish fly rod made this catch possible folks!

Bradly and myself camped out Friday night prior to musky season opening Saturday morning. We caught Channel Catfish, Walleyes, Smallmouth, and of course musky.

We got a real big one immediately after awakening on a sandy beach upon the river. I honestly was so tired and just woke up it feels like it didn't even happen. Thought I had snagged a carp when the fish wouldn't come up but when she did, she was big!!!!!!

We caught a few other fish and fished with several different guests. Shoutout Aiden and John for hitting the river with me and of course my little cousin Wyatt for capturing his first musky casting! I really love fishing filming and editing these videos and I hope you all enjoy. Get outside and good luck fishing folks!!!!

When other fisherman are in the area, slow it way down and fish every nook and cranny.

The majority of fisherman are flipping and whipping without thinkin. Sometimes ya gotta really get your bait within a few inches of a fishes face to make her react. Slow er downnnnn son!!!
