Entry #2 I don’t even know where to start other than my fiancé is truly my knight and shining armor. We met in May of 2020 and things went super fast with us as me and my mom had just been displaced from our home of 7 years and was forced to move in with my aunt only a couple of weeks before meeting Austin. We then found a small place we could afford as Austin had said he was going to be there to help us through this. My mom has been sick for a long time battling type 1 diabetes and the many obstacles it comes with. Me and Austin found out we were going be parents among all the crazy things we were going through in life but never once did I have to worry about him not being there for me or our now son.
My mom was then in and out of the hospital a lot with Covid causing high blood sugars the later part of 2020. We then lost a beautiful soul that raised Austin “his grandmother to COVID December 31, 2020.
As we then welcomed our beautiful son on February 1st of 2021. We were doing life as a family like anyone could dream of, my mom was then diagnosed with Covid yet again and she struggled with the issues it brought on again being in and out of the hospital several times for uncontrollable high blood sugar. We then had what we thought was a break during the last part of the summer/fall of 2021 as my mom seemed to being doing great and was enjoying her time with her 1st grand baby. Then our world was shattered on October 28, 2021 as my mom was found unresponsive that morning and we ended up loosing her at the young age of 41 due to a massive stroke. As we were just starting to move forward in life without my mom I then lost my dad suddenly 3 weeks later on November 13, 2021. Our world had changed so much in such a short time and all she wanted in life was for me to find a man that would be good to me and be by my side no matter what life throws at me and this is exactly what Austin has done. He had stepped up to help take care of my mom when he didn’t have to, he worked extremely hard to provide for us including my mom and her needs all while making me the happiest I’ve ever been. He ask me to marry him in front of all of my family on Christmas Day of 2021, and of course without a shadow of doubt I Said YES!! I would love to win this to take that burden off him to give me my dream wedding.
Thank you,
Austin Shaw and Jordan McDonald
