The Silver Nutmeg’s creative workshops resume in September!

First up - one of my favorites from the IOD - Iron Orchid Designs Winter 2026 release - “Bramblewood Diaries”!

It features the months of the year surrounded by a beautiful wreath of florals and tiny woodland animals appropriate to the time of year.

You’ll use the month of your choice along with the “Conservatory Labels”mould, stamps, paints, antiquing waxes and our new wood block stand and see what a beautiful piece you can create

Class is limited to 8 creators. Once you register (click on the photo below), please DM me with your choice of month so I can be sure to have enough on hand)

Trim (to mimic old nailhead trim):
*IOD “Classic Elements” mould in clay
*Dixie Belle copper gilding wax
*Stamperia vintage antiquing paste
*Pentart rust effects kit

Ribbon hanger - I chose a cognac/bronze color that ended up working perfectly with the stag’s pelt. I wanted more of an autumnal vibe vs Christmas

Good morning from sunny NW CT!

It’s been a week and there ain’t enough lavender … 🤣

On tap this weekend:

— a few more projects from the new IOD Winter 2026 release. My favorites are the “Flurry” stamp and the “Stag Tavern transfer. Both are in my booth at Andy’s Attic, and are available on my website

— I scored some fabulously chippy stair balusters at Vintage Market Days last weekend - I have some ideas for them

— my in-store classes resume in September so keep an eye out for those details - a project using one of the new IOD offerings and a class using vintage window sashes and transfers.

“The Bramblewood Diaries” delivers a double dose of creativity.

Carefully cutting the months from their respective wreaths, I used them with the miscellaneous motifs to create really lovely ephemera sheets. The script papers are from Amazon.

The wreaths are still intact to use in other projects.

Ya •gotta• go to Vintage Market Days of Connecticut! Today and tomorrow at the Harwinton Fair Grounds

Tons of vintage vendors, clothing, plants, food trucks and stuff!

While you’re there - check out the big market area at the top of the (very small) hill. Stop by Gardenhouse Studio’s booth! You’ll know it because it’s one of the prettiest spaces there and is loaded with great deals on decoupage paper and accessories

Bonus - Life Redone by Melissa is the same market space with •her• gorgeous creations!

Thrifted wood caddy.

IOD - Iron Orchid Designs new “Winter’s Calling” transfer. I wrapped two of the borders around the handle

Base coat in Dixie Belle “English Ivy”, which is pretty much my favorite go-to green.

Sweet Pickins Milk Paint in “Window Pane” (another fave)

Clear wax and then the barest sweep of brown wax
