2024 in Review and some 2025.
After mostly retireing at the end of 2023 a year has passed so an update is in order. I attended the Celtic Showcase in Parsippany, NJ, volunteered at NTIF, and attended Tyler Celtic. A lot has been accomplished on the homestead in the meantime: 400'+ of new fence, a 2nd pond dug out, lots more property cleanup, a new RV size carport, a lean-to with 2200w of solar, and a hybrid mini split installed which opens up another 500 sq ft of living space. I am currently working on a wood burning stove install also.
- The most exciting thing is Una!! After decades on nonstop travel, an old friend took a govt travel job so he blessed me with a guardian for The Celtic Ranch. She was born missing an eye and I have been unsucessful at getting her to bark like a pirate. Arrrrrrwoof!!
- My 800ac neighbor has my 21ac completely surrounded. It is very serene though. I took this photo after a storm dropped a 50' oak last May/June. It took a week to cut up and required a bigger tractor/backhoe to remove the root ball. The fence was immediately fixed. No bull.
- The immediate 5ac neighbor to the north has horses, goats, chickens, etc. We have him surrounded.
- 26 years of exhibiting at trade shows coming up in April.
- 39 years of NTIF coming up in March. Too many hats worn there to even list. It has always been my (bday) Party!!
*** For the last few years long time friends, former owners of a Celtic store, and fellow festival vendors from DesMoines, Gary & Kris Knapp, would stop thru on the way to/from their winter quarters at the bottom of Texas, including last April for the Total Solar Eclipse. Sadly Kris passed away a month ago Gary still came thru.
I look forward to 2025, getting more homesteading done, and I may even travel to a few more festivals as a ticket buying tourist. Happy New Year y'all!!!
