We promised a couple of you some SNICKERDOODLE SCONES for your 4th of July celebrations, so here we go!
Y'all have some GOOD ideas.... We tried them as the base for strawberry shortcake, and you were RIGHT... it's AMAZING!! (Lookin' at you, Jill! You deserve credit for this discovery! 😉)
And because it just seems like a super-American picnic-dessert, we're also offering chocolate chip cookies. A little something for whatever your celebration looks like!

✨Our rustic round snickerdoodle scones are not your average dry, dense scone. These are soft, pillowy, and faintly sweet inside, topped with a pop of sweet glaze and finished with that traditional snickerdoodle dusting of cinnamon sugar. Enjoy these warmed slightly, or as the shortcake element in your strawberry shortcake creations. Homemade vanilla whipped cream elevates this to the SKY! 👩‍🍳

✨Our chocolate chip cookies are perfectly classic. We've even heard from one fan that it edged out a family member's long-time fave "famous" recipe! We worked through quite a few recipe variations to land on this version. Soft center, a good firm bite with just a bit of crisp to the very edges, and LOTS of chips. My mother taught me that the correct measurement of chocolate chips in any recipe is to eyeball "too many" and go with it! For consistency's sake, we figured out what that looks like and weigh it every time, so all our batches turn out with the same level of awesomeness.✨

Friends, Tanglewood is taking a break...

We LOVE all of you and we LOVE baking for you SO much, but with baseball/softball craziness and needing to thoughtfully prepare for our next school year, this mama needs to spend some time on an intentional regroup.

If we've personally told you we've got you covered for something special or specific, DON'T WORRY -- we got you! We won't be completely MIA, and if you're in need of something special, please message us! We will assess our calendar and commitments and see if it's something we can accommodate!

We have SO enjoyed getting to know so many new friends here, and we have nothing but deep gratitude for each and every one of you! Our tiny little bakery has had such a lovely run so far because of YOU and your kind support, and that gift is not lost on us. 🥲 Stay tuned and we'll let you know when we're ready to get back in the kitchen again! 💗

We just tried that over here - slightly warmed, split open, sweetened strawberries and homemade vanilla whipped cream on top... It's (as our neighbor stated while trying it with us...) SUBLIME. ✨🍓 Who's up for THAT?! 😋✨

After last night’s storm, we are LITERALLY “Tanglewood” over here! We have no power, but it’s on the list to be restored. We are SO thankful for so many neighborhood and church helpers who just jumped in. And we are SO grateful that the only real damage was to the power line! It could have been so much worse! Kansas showed off for our dear visiting friend. We’re more than grateful for her help, kindness, and ability to roll with it through it all. 💗

{and the boys found a baby blue jay in the tree debris, which we had to relocate to continue the cleanup. Then we found three more later! All were successfully relocated AND we have seen their parents find and feed them!}

✨Our maple pecan scones.... mmmmm..... Roy has declared these his favorite flavor we make! These are soft, NOT dense and dry, slightly sweet, with lovely chopped pecans inside. The glaze on these is (obviously!) a delightful maple made with real maple syrup with hints of brown sugar and butter. SO GOOD.

✨Salt-kissed caramel cookies.... these babies have a cult following at this point. 😆 They were definitely an instant favorite here in our home too! These have a soft center with a good firm bite with a little crunch to it from the TOFFEE... also included are plenty of decadent white chocolate chips, and a flaky sea salt finish on top.

✨There is a sweet friend of Tanglewood having a pretty big surgery this next week. Would you join us in praying for this person's surgery and recovery process, as well as their family providing care during this time too? Thank you, friends! 💗✨

Roy, I know the math is right, but…. 13? Really? THIRTEEN??? What a lovely day… birthday donuts, a looooong FaceTime hangout that included playing chess by video 😆, some impromptu cupcakes with passion fruit marshmallow buttercream that you picked out and thought was AMAZING, youth group tonight with cookies, games, and ‘happy birthdays’…. Then heading home quickly afterward because of midwestern spring tornado-and-giant-hail possibilities, which always makes me go 😬, but would you just LOOK at the beauty peeking through on the way home! You know how the roadside snapshots of beautiful skies NEVER do the actual sky much justice? I wish you could’ve seen the real thing! Wow, Kansas, you’ve got your perks. Happy birthday, buddy. 🥹💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
