Lets Grow Together! Today we are picking up where we left off. We discussed the transplanting and the indoor setup for the clones. Now we have to get them ready for the final destination. Outside in your Garden.

The clones have been growing inside with artificial light and not exposed to the wind. Additionally direct sunlight when the plant is not used to it causes sunburnt leaves and overall shocks the plant. This can kill the plant or at the very least stunt the growth cycle and negatively impact your final harvest.

You want to bring the clones outside to a shaded area away from direct sunlight in the morning after you turn the lights on. leave them out for a couple hours and bring them back inside. Keep them out longer everyday gradually exposing them to indirect and direct sunlight for longer and longer everyday. After about 5-7 days you should have them out during peak sunlight hours only bringing them inside at night to maintain the 18-6 light cycle.

Now that your clones are used to the outside environment we have to go over Supporting your plant and how big the final pot will be. watch for the next post in the Lets Grow Together series for more!

Lets Grow Together!!!!! I already typed this post up, and edited it to fix my spelling mistakes. But just before i pressed post the power went off! So this is Take 2!

So first you need a space you can control the lighting completely. Make sure it is clean and pest free. Also make sure outside light does not make it into this space. T5 Fluorescent lights are best, however some LED lights and normal compact fluorescent bulbs work too. we just want all the light possible!

Now you need either 1/2 or a 1 gallon pot. make sure there are plenty of drainage holes in the bottom so we avoid root rot and mildew issues in your soil. The soil you want will be a light fluffy spongy potting mix. We want it to hold moisture but be able to drain efficiently so there is no standing water in the roots. Coco coir is a common ingredient in a lot of potting soils.

Now fill your pot a little over half full with your soil. Remove your clone from the solo cup or small container its in. Put it in your pot and fill in soil around and on top of the roots and old soil. Lightly tamp the soil around and on top of the roots. We don't want big air gaps but we want the roots to grow freely and water to drain efficiently. Leave about 2 inches of space at the top of the pot. Water the plant and all the surrounding soil to help settle the soil without packing it tightly by hand. Your waters PH level should be no lower than 5.8 but not higher than 6.5. Comment on this post if you want me to make a post about how to test and adjust the PH levels of your water naturally.

The first 24-36 hours after transplanting I recommend keeping them under the light. first day 70% humidity is a good start with the lights on all day. when you adjust your lighting to 18 on 6 off try to keep the humidity under 60% only water your clone when the soil feels dry we don't want any mildew problems and its easy to over water new clones. make sure when you turn your lights off for the 6 hour "rest" No external light touches your plants. this is an important step!

Tomorrow we will go over the transition from your indoor space to your outdoor garden!!!

Well Today we ran into some technical Issues with our facebook and we are just now able to post again. So i'll be delaying the second post about hardening off your clones to transition them to your outside. The post about what to do with your clone when you come home will be up soon! Our power shut off right after I had it all typed out just before I pressed post! ugh that was frustrating!
