As I stood looking out over the cornfield, I noticed something that keeps coming to mind every time I see anything grown from seed - each stalk was at a different stage of growth, even though they had all been planted at the same time. Some stood tall and full, others were still reaching upward, and a few looked like they were slowly beginning their journey.

It struck me how much nature quietly teaches us, if we’re willing to slow down and notice. Just like the corn, we are all growing - just not at the same pace, and not in the same way. Life doesn’t unfold on a single timeline.

That simple moment in the field felt like a gentle reminder: to offer more kindness, more patience, and more understanding. To lead with love and gratitude. Because each of us is in a different season of growth, doing the best we can with where we are.

Nature has a way of showing us that growth is not a race - it’s a process meant to be respected, nurtured, and appreciated.

Five years ago, if you told us we’d be starting a farming journey…we would’ve laughed.

Now, it’s the little things— turning sap into syrup, and watching seeds grow, while creating a legacy for our children and teaching them lifelong skills. 🌱🍁

And somehow…happiness is a culvert being put in so a tractor can cross a ditch.

Big thanks to the Town of Windsor Highway Department for getting it done so quickly.
