🎸❤️ Small Business Saturday is about more than just doing business—it's about investing in the communities we call home.
Today, on the patio at Brick & Ivy, I had the privilege of helping present guitars to Parker and Nathan, two young men entering 8th grade in the Southeast Polk School District through the incredible work of Broken Strings.
A special thank you to Heather Lee from Lazer 103.3 for helping make today's presentation possible, and to Todd Bowman and Quality Outdoor Services for being tremendous supporters of Broken Strings and helping provide opportunities like this for young musicians throughout Iowa.
As the owner of Choice Floors, moments like this remind me why supporting local matters. When you support local businesses, you're supporting the people and organizations that give back to our schools, our communities, and our kids.
Every guitar given away represents more than an instrument. It's an opportunity to learn, create, gain confidence, and discover a lifelong passion for music.
Broken Strings continues to change lives across Iowa thanks to the support of local businesses, educators, donors, volunteers, the Nick Nurse Foundation, the Joey Jordison Charitable Fund, and so many others who believe in the power of music.
Thank you to everyone who chooses to support local businesses. Together, we're helping build stronger communities and brighter futures.
Congratulations, Parker and Nathan. We can't wait to see where your musical journeys take you. 🎶🎸
