In the winter of 2012, co-founder CJay DiPrima, at the age of 19, was diagnosed with a rare form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma called Gray Zone. He went through months of intensive treatment involving both chemotherapy and radiation. "This was an extremely difficult situation both physically and mentally, one where keeping a positive attitude seemed almost impossible. However, I learned quickly that b
eing negative would get me nowhere. Also, my family and friends would always tell me that thinking positive would help me through the entire process. Needless to say, they weren't wrong." CJay used this advice to help him get through the most difficult time in his life. He is currently in remission and is staying positive everyday. This experience inspired founders, CJay DiPrima and Tom Mullin to create Stay Positive Apparel, with the hopes of spreading a bit of positive thinking to those who need it most. The lime green color of the positive symbol in the logo represents the color for lymphoma awareness. A portion of proceeds from every shirt will go to cancer foundations and to researchers to help find a cure.
