I owe everyone an apology for the hurricane. You see, I recently bought Rio a yard and promised him a splash pad. Well, nature decided to deliver on that promise in its own dramatic way. We’ve officially moved from Wimberley to Corrigan, a new chapter that started with a bang (or rather, a deluge). While I’ve been known for moving a lot and never really setting down roots, it looks like this time we’re sticking around for a while. Here’s to new beginnings and unexpected adventures!

Today, my four-legged foreman, Rio, and I had a deep dive into the fine art of puzzle wood preservation. Ensuring our wooden pieces resist warping is an art in itself – it’s all about the perfect balance of temperature and humidity in the workshop.

Rio, with his ever-eager McNab Shepherd instincts, proposed a hands-on (or rather, paws-on) solution. Though he’s at a slight disadvantage without opposable thumbs, he never lets that dampen his enthusiasm. Swift as the wind, he dashed into our sanding sanctuary – the very heart of our wood storage – and perched atop the puzzle planks. His proud pose seemed to say, “I may not have thumbs, but I can still apply pressure!”

So here he is, the diligent herder of hardwood, ensuring our puzzles stay flat and flawless. Even without a sheep in sight, Rio’s always on the job!

Hello to all our new friends and our faithful puzzle enthusiasts! A very special thank you to Sheryl Smith-Rodgers (writer) and Dave Shafer (photographer). Sheryl recently did a (wonderful!) write-up for Texas Coop Power Magazine and Dave was gracious enough to come all the way down to Wimberley and spend the day capturing the essence of our puzzle-making magic, even featured Rio! Their work was incredible enough that the magazine made it their feature cover story! The response to the article has been phenomenal - perhaps even a bit overwhelming - keeping us busier than ever. Rio isn't a ton of help, but I'm working hard, and a lot of hours, on getting all of these out to you guys. It almost reminds me of pandemic times! Of course, Murphy reared his head and decided to take his revenge on some of the puzzle-cleaning equipment, slowing things down. That's sorted, and even improved! One thing that I'm super stoked about is that almost all of the puzzles that are going out now are "Rev 2's." I decided that I could fit more StoryPieces into the puzzles, so I'm revising all of them to make that happen. There are some great pieces telling an even more compelling story inside the puzzles that I think everyone will enjoy!

These bustling times reveal opportunities for streamlining our processes and rest assured, we're on it! That said, everyone's patience is so greatly appreciated! This is a one-man (and one-dog!) show, so things aren't always the most expedient, but how cool to know that your puzzle was made solely for you!

All of your orders are so greatly appreciated, and we thank you! The shop we rent was recently sold and the new landlords have been fantastic and accommodating. I think they are in the process of coming up with some of their own plans for this building and the former Tree House, so I'm excited to see what those are. The orders you guys have been placing are going to one place: and that's finding a place for Rio and me to work from. My fingers are crossed that we can find a permanent place to both live and work from. Rio made me promise to get him a little puppy sister when that happens, so he's definitely excited.

Rare sighting in Wimberley: Texsquatch, the little known cousin of Sasquatch (but bigger and better - because… Texas). He wanted some wooden stickers made to show off his Texas pride, so I whipped up some maple veneer stickers with a super sticky, permanent 3M backing. Lots of grunting, so I think he approves.
