I'm usually pretty private when it comes to sharing the details of my illness with others & most of the time, it's not visibly obvious that I'm suffering from a disease or from the effects of treatment. In fact, sometimes while working as a designer between homes of select residential clients & sets of TV series, commercials & movie projects, I have to pretend that I feel good. I’m not a professio
nal actor, but some producers & coworkers, who are aware of my situation, have teased me about an Oscar nomination for my role as a “secret Lyme fighter.” Now, if I could actually win an Oscar Award like that, I'd probably sell it because battling this disease sure can be EXPENSIVE & funds can be quickly depleted. Though my hubby pays for a pricey health insurance policy, portions of my ongoing treatment & some medications aren’t covered… PLUS I travel to Washington, DC to see a specialist!
“BOOTH 24 a Lyme Cure” began because I was diagnosed in the late-stages of an incurable, disabling disease called Neurological Lyme Borreliosis Complex after many, many years of my regular doctor treating each of my symptoms individually.
