So a client had two of these 601 Prototypes come in. The original design for the AR. The problem was with this charging handle configuration, it would get super hot after a burst or rapid fire and you'd burn your hand. Thus the change to a rear cocking system.

Thank you all for calls, texts, messages, the well wishes, and prayers. I have to say, I have a truly wonderful and caring clientele. The surgery went well. They had more work to repair then initially expected. However, my spirits are fine. It's a blessing to know people who have started as customers have become caring friends. The recovery progress will be slow. I look forward to being able to provide services in the future, but fir now I truly am astounded by the care our small little community has given me. God bless.

Due to an unfortunate medical accident, a torn rotator cuff, I will be closing the shop for a few month while I recover. My wife and I will fulfill any orders and transfers outstanding. I do apologize for the inconvenience and hope to be able to serve my customers and community soon.

Thank to all our Veterans, present and past. Some gave the ultimate sacrifice, some are still standing for very freedoms we often take for granted. Some have returned home broken. Let us remember them all and make efforts for those that come home have the support and love they deserve.

Just finished restoring a early year Springfield Arms Co. 22 short long or long rifle. Challenge Model, which came with a 20” barrel instead of the 24”. They were made by J. Stevens & Co. Which later became Savage Arms Co.
This one was an early production model because it has no serial number or model number. For a rifle made in the late 1920’s, it shoots great.
