I Smell Books

Hello Friends! After a much needed break we are back. And in time for the fall to have a bookish box.
This Book Box will come with 4 items, including a Bonus Mystery gift. Total of 5 items. One of the items will be a Halloween mug (randomly chosen)! The best part of this box is some of these items come from Haiti! We have partnered with Haiti Mama to bring you amazing items that will create jobs in Haiti. **FYI** Did you know that 80% of the kids in orphanages have families? By training Haitian parents + pay fair trade wage families are able to stay together.

4 different options:

1. Classic Book Box Only w/items : Classic Tales of Horror. Beautiful leather bound book.

2. Young Adult Book Box w/items
Book will be a secret (Shhh!) but if you would like to know what it is please send and email to [email protected] we will let you in on our secret.

3. Deluxe - Both Classic & YA books w/items.
Can't decide on which chose them both. Or need a gift buy the Deluxe and keep one book, some of the items for yourself, and give the rest as gifts!!

4. Items only - "I have plenty of books." - No One but if you would like to have the amazing items only then here is the option for you!

This is probably the saddest post that I have ever done.

First off we are all good here! Family is healthy, ISB is healthy. Someone (Nick) wants to expand his education and go back to school and that means this nurse (Kristen) will need to change her work status. In order to do that successfully I have to stop subscriptions for a while..

June will be our last YA and classic boxes. Our website will be shutting down on April 30th. I'm honestly not sure how long it will last. There is a strong possibility of seasonal box but that will not be till after this fall. (I can't completely let go of my dream.)

For those who have an active account I will be going through them and cancelling them so that they don't renew after June. If you have a yearly subscription I will refund you for the boxes that won't ship after June. If you have any questions please email me at [email protected]

I absolutely remember being read to in class and loving it.

Question: What was your favorite book that a teacher read to you?

Mine was the Choose Your Own Adventure series!

I signed for a package last week.
The delivery guy said, “DiCamillo?”
I said, “Yes.”
“Wait,” he said. “Did you write Because of Winn-Dixie?”
“I did.”
“Oh, wow,” he said. “My third grade teacher read that book to us. I’ll never forget it.”
And then he smiled at me—this radiant, beautiful smile—and I suddenly saw him as an eight-year old kid, sitting in class, listening to a story.
That man’s third-grade teacher is out there somewhere, and I wanted to let her know this: he remembers. He remembers you reading to him.

don't sit next to Kristen at a funeral or any other serious situation. As she would rather laugh than cry, and dirty looks would ensue or possibly a flick to the ear by her Mom. Think of the Harry Potter scene where Ron and Harry repeatedly get busted by Snape for talking. ** Mental note stop sitting in front of Mom at functions. **

Yup. I did this. Do you ever go to the Dollar store to get something and then end up practicing for when you own a bookstore ?!?

I wish I had a before picture. But to be honest it was such a mess that i just had to make it pretty just to see all the books. And yes I ignored the stares of other shoppers. Clearly they don't understand the bookish need to make books pretty or at least organized.

To my bookstore owner friends and librarians how did I do? .adventures

Please tell me I'm not the only person who has done this. Thanks in advance.
