Sunday June 29th, we had another first here at Shell Shock fireworks. For the first time in 12-13 years, we had a tent go completely down with product in it and another one halfway down. I arrived in Shell K**b after being in Wichita for a few days, and after being in the tent only a couple of hours my dad and I were hit with straight line 80 mph winds, which buckled one of the sides of the tent. Products went flying, banners flew off, boxes blowing down the street, and we did everything we could to keep the tent up. I made a quick phone call to Branson to let them know they were about to get hit, which oh boy did they. Not only did they have the straight line winds, but you can see the funnel cloud way too close for comfort. That tent went completely down, shattered register screen, tipped over porta potty, damaged camper, and loss of product. The rest of Sunday evening was spent starting the cleanup mode and making phone calls to see what the next steps were. Here at Shell K**b I was blessed with some of our local friends who came right away to help. My aunt and uncle D and Larry showed up along with my parents and kids. My Uncle Doug was able to get the tent standing in Branson agaim with the help of 10 to 12 complete strangers coming together and starting yesterday morning a crew of people worked very hard to get that tent repaired and back up and running. In these times I try to focus on what God is trying to teach me, and in such stressful times when I think I can't handle anymore he shows me I can. He has been merciful as things could have been much worse and I have seen the good in people helping just to help. I have had a ton of people checking on us making sure we don't need anything, stopping by the tent, providing food, and whatever else they can think of to help. Today, Tuesday, July 1st, we have 5 tents up and running and are ready to go!
