Queen Darcie, surveying her kingdom. She believes she is the official Supervisor of Sheep Operations.
The real sheep dogs have not approved this position. 👑🐑

My sweet momma loves her birds. She has the prettiest little bird houses you’ve ever seen, and she keeps them filled like she’s running a five-star bed and breakfast for wildlife.

Which is precious. Truly.

Except now we’re about to plant grass seed… and I have no doubt the birds will consider it a catered event.

Hospitality has consequences, y’all. Wish us luck

I can feel it — that itch to start planting. I know better… but I can’t help staring at those little rows and imagining what’s coming. Garden fever is real, my friends. Spring, hurry up.

The world feels so fractured right now—everyone pulling, pushing, proving, and persuading.

It’s nice to find a little peace out here. Lately, it feels like a small act of resistance—choosing care over outrage, growth over noise.

Here, I don’t feel the need to win anyone over, and I don’t need to be right.

I just want peace, a good cup of coffee, and something beautiful to tend.

We made it through the cold snap… barely. Even the greenhouse got colder than I care to think about, which makes optimism feel a little premature right now. Still, I can’t help it — I’m so ready for spring. Ready for green things, warm mornings, and not holding my breath every time the forecast updates. Here’s to cautious optimism and hoping the worst of winter is finally behind us.

We figured if we’re cozy and fed, the birds should be too. Simple as that.

This is what happens when a Texas winter gives you false hope. Early peach buds, followed by two days of single digit temps and snow. This is one very confused little peach tree. ❄️🍑

Well, I ordered a frost cloth for my little peach tree. I plan on spending tomorrow afternoon making sure she’s tucked in and protected. Meanwhile, Darcie is absolutely thrilled about the cold and clearly counting down to her snow day. Same yard. Very different priorities. 🍑❄🐾

Just a few warm days was all it took for these little peach buds to show up. I was excited for about two seconds… and then remembered it was only January. Texas winters love to mess with us like that. We’ll cover her up, cross our fingers, and hope she makes it through the snow in the forecast. I guess this is the weather’s way of telling us not to count on peaches this year. 🚫🍑😭

Some days I’m all grace and patience. Other days I’m protecting my peace and sipping my coffee a little slower. This mug fits both moods without asking me to choose. ☕🌹 Want one? Visit our website link in our bio.

I used to think mornings needed ambition. Turns out they just need coffee and a little grace.
