Because of your willingness to look out for our small business and our community, the individual was quickly identified and law enforcement was able to move forward with the case.

An arrest warrant has now been issued.

Before I say anything else, this message is NOT directed at the many customers who have supported, encouraged, and championed us. To those customers: thank you. We appreciate you more than you know.

What saddens me is that my family has poured countless hours, energy, and resources into providing what we believed was a needed service for our community. Instead of support, we have often been met with ridicule, insults, and unrealistic expectations.

I’ve seen comments that our prices are “too high.” Too high compared to what? Our pricing is based on offering real savings from the original retailer’s price. Groceries are generally about 50% below retail. Chewy and Amazon merchandise is typically around 50% off. Target merchandise is often around 40% off, and Dollar General merchandise around 30% off.

Recently, I overheard someone say, “Things are only a dollar or two cheaper than the store.” My question is: what exactly are you expecting? Those dollars add up. Saving $1 or $2 on multiple items can mean significant savings on an entire shopping trip.

The same person criticized products that were past their Best By dates, yet happily filled her arms with free items that were also past those dates. That’s the contradiction we face every day.

We are a small, family-owned business. We are not Walmart. We do not have the buying power of billion-dollar corporations. What we do have is a commitment to finding deals, reducing waste, and helping families stretch their budgets.

Yes, some of our grocery items are shelf pulls or past their Best By dates. That’s not a secret. We clearly communicate that, and every purchase is backed by our satisfaction guarantee.

What is interesting is that many of our loyal customers drive from Brunswick County, South Carolina, and other surrounding areas to shop with us. If our prices weren’t providing value, they wouldn’t keep making the trip.

If our store isn’t for you, that’s okay. Everyone has different shopping preferences. But please don’t expect a small local business to give products away for free and then criticize us for not competing with the purchasing power of national chains.

For those who understand the value of saving money, reducing waste, and supporting local families, we welcome you and appreciate your business.

Today I overheard someone say, “Things are only a couple of dollars cheaper than a regular store.”

And that’s okay—we understand everyone shops differently.

But here’s something worth thinking about:

Saving $2 on one item may not seem like much. Saving $2 on 20 items is $40 back in your pocket. Those small savings add up quickly over the course of a shopping trip, a week, or an entire month.

As a family-owned small business, we’re not a giant corporation with thousands of stores and massive purchasing power. We work hard to find closeouts, shelf pulls, and end-date products so we can pass those savings along to our community.

No, every item won’t be 50% off retail. If it were, we wouldn’t be here very long! But we strive every day to offer honest savings on products families use every day.
