First Friday, April 3, is shaping up to be a great opportunity to put on a cute outfit, get out of the house and get with your community on ways that will remind you that humanity does still thrive, even if the world seems a little daunting right now.
One of the best ways I can think of to exercise a little optimism is to listen to what VT gubernatorial candidate, Amanda Janoo has to say. When the anxiety that this administration causes creeps in on me, I literally pull up one Janoo’s campaign speeches and am reminded that there is a path forward through these bonkers times and that Vermont is positioned to be a beacon of abundance and ethical independence if we are willing to walk the talk that she’s speaking.
Whether you are a Vermonter or not, please take a look at Amanda's platform and messaging and join us on Friday, April 3rd at Revolution for an informal meet & greet with snacks and bespoke mocktails from 6-7pm and then over to the Filling Station for a dance party with Amanda and UV DJ phenom, Sir Babygirl!

But wait! There's more... Just a sample of other First Friday festivities include a laid-back mystical evening of tarot at Open Door with tarotista, Audrey Gilbert and a wine tasting and exhibition of lino prints at Scavenger.
The Scavenger show, titled People of Golden Threads, is from a series of Stacy's from her 2024 artist residency at Chateau Orquevaux, France, about the invisible links and inseparable ties we have with others.
Kishka hosts another super cool artist reception; Like Literally Figuratively with Michael Hambouz, a first-generation Palestinian American multidisciplinary artist and multi-instrumentalist musician based in Brooklyn, NY.
Be sure to drop in at Rue & Ren where they'll be serving up a Spring Punch and offering free seeds with every purchase and over at Putnam's Vineyard you can check out their Mediterranean spring specials while enjoying live jazz beginning at 6:30pm.
Another First Friday 'must' is a visit to the Main Street Museum where David Ford & friends are always cooking up a ton of fun. In addition to DFF's iconic player piano performance, Route 5 Jive will host a Jazz Invitational and the monthly Vermont Welcome Wagon is a great way for newcomers and old timers to connect, break some bread and make new friends.
