We voted, especially for Glenn Elliott for Senate - that is US Senate, not a state senate. I encourage WV Republicans, Independents, Mountain & Democratic party members to vote for Glenn because he is honest, cares for WV, and as a former aide to Senator Byrd, has considerable federal experience, making him capable of being effective in Washington.

Obama just finished a powerful 45 minute speech in Pittsburgh. It was one of the greatest speeches I’ve ever heard. Democrats should play it non-stop on Fox and TikTok and every where else for the next 26 days.

My leg and wrist are much improved so Vigilant Books will be open Saturday, Oct 5 from 11 am to whenever I get tired- probably 3:30 or 4. Closed Friday though. The books and I look forward to seeing you again!

I am much recovered from my fall two weaks ago, but still haven't yet reopened Vigilant Books, as those who came by yesterday or today know. I plan to open the shop Saturday, Oct 6 and look forward to seeing all of you and the books then. Thanks!!

Trip plus 5. On Monday I tripped over an uneven sidewalk and slammed face down. My forehead, nose and right knee stopped the fall and bled profusely. Ambulances to Wheeling Hospital and 10 hrs in ER and 4 days as admitted patient. My nose, left wrist and right knee cap all broken - and my glasses. X-rays, C-scan and MRI. Multiple great docs say breaks will self heal in 6-8 weeks wearing splints. Pain is marginal but I am tired all the time. Practice walking to build leg and wrist strength. Home now with bath (in walk in tub), and non-hospital breakfast. Going to be boring day - hard to hold book to read or laptop to work with just one hand. But I am in decent shape, and thank folks for good wishes! Vera has been absolute star helper and will continue for weeks. I was impressed with kind Wheeling Hospital staff and especially Dr Amy Liscomb. It will be awhile before I can do the Charleston again!
