My daughter Abby was MLR employee #001 (well, technically #002 behind me) and was actually sorting and alphabetizing records long before the store opened in 2014.

I still have not forgiven her for asking me if Led Zeppelin should be filed under L or Z. : P

Abby was diagnosed with Lupus a few years before the store opened and she has been a patient at Lurie Children's hospital (among other hospitals!) for... well.. until she became an adult. And while she has her disease under control, she is now part of the Luries family in a different way and is giving back by being on the Junior Board. Abby is also an avid runner and is running in her first full marathon this October as part of Team Lurie and raising money for patients of Luries in the process. The money she raises in this marathon will directly help other children who are not just battling health issues, but financial issues as well.

If you're able to donate, share this post, or simply cheer Abby on throughout training, we'd be so grateful. Every bit of support means the world to us. I think it's fair to say that we don't post "causes" often, but this one is close to home so it's definitely the next right thing to do. Edit: We still have a handful of Nice Ice Baby (blue). The no notice drops have been working spectacularly! No lines, no drama (except maybe in the comments here). Easy, peasy, squishy squeazy!! Our regular customers get what they want. A few customers in the store at the time of our getting ready for the drop (it just takes a few minutes) are thrilled that they were here. This is how we will continue to deal with NeeDoh.
