It is with great disappointment that I will not be in the fireworks business this season. I will miss seeing each and every one of my customers whom I fondly regard to as friends. I have been in “the business” for over 50 years and have some families that I have served for over 3 generations.
I want to thank all of you who have stopped by my stand over the last 5 years and helped me fulfill a lifelong dream. Without the help of my loving wife, Rita, extended family members, and your patronage, I couldn’t have made it work. I have truly been blessed with your support.

Most of you already know that I have been battling an infection in my right knee for the last 5 months. I had an old replacement in May 12, 2021. Rehab and PT went fine all summer and I was pretty much back to my normal activities. Things were fine until 1st week of October, so I went to my surgeon and after some tests, he determined that the infection was back and I had a 2nd operation October 13th. This time they cleaned it out and after a few days in the hospital I was released for further treatment. A picc line was put in my left arm for a regiment of 42 daily infusions at Sigourney Hospital. I was on oral antibiotics for another 90 days. Things started to feel strange around the 1st of March so another trip to my surgeon, the infection had returned and so I returned for surgery #3 on March 23. This time they removed my entire prosthesis, cleaned the area and put me on a “temporary” spacer, and inserted pads of antibiotics and closed me up.
Another picc line was put in my left arm and I am currently going to Sigourney for a 42 day treatment plan of infusions. I have a full leg brace from my heel to the top of my thigh and use a walker to limit the amount of weight that I put on my leg.
My surgeon said the whole process could take 3-4 months to be sure that the infection has been cleaned up before I get to have my 4th operation to insert a new prosthesis. Stay tuned for further developments and progress.
