It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’ve still been making knives, just took a break from posting. This is a Skookum Bush Tool headed to Oklahoma .evan. 3.87” blade in CPM M4. 4.25” handle with G10 handle. Kydex sheath with leather belt loop.

Lately I’ve had several inquiries about bigger blades. I’ve also been contemplating a new coating to treat high carbon knives with that will make them more rust resistant in the field. These two blades are a test of each.
Both blades are 80CrV2. The first one is 14.25” OAL with an 8.75” cutting edge. It weighs 1 pound 3 ounces. It is .2055” at the spine (a little over 3/16.) The handle is Burlap Micarta. The coating is tactical black Duracoat from . I have tested the rust resistance by leaving it outside for a week and a half while I was away on 2 camping trips. The edge took a notable amount of rust, but I expected that as it is bare metal. There was absolutely no rust anywhere that was coated. I have also tested the chemical resistance with gasoline, acetone, mineral spirits and denatured alcohol. Absolutely no problems with any of them.
I will test the durability of the coating this weekend splitting wood while camping.

The second blade is a recurve that is 13.25” OAL with a 7.5” cutting edge. It weighs 8 ounces with no handle.

Trailing point hunter headed out to . Tony sent me the Damascus billet made by and the Honduras Rosewood Burl to make the handle out of. It’s hard to go wrong with materials like this to work with!

Back in the shop!
After a long while dealing with some vision problems, boredom has won and I am back in the shop.
For those of you who have patiently been waiting on orders I really appreciate you. You are my top priority.

4” blade, 8.5” OAL.
Gotta love M4! It takes such an incredible edge.

New Prototype EDC.
This is a new design I’m playing with. It’s 6” OAL with a 2.25” blade. All of my knives are fully customizable, but this model will come with Terotuf scales by default. This one is hollow ground, but Sabre and Scandi grinds will be available. The finished knife weighs 2.8 ounces.
The sheath will come with soft loops like the ones in the third pic.
This one is 8670 steel at 63 HRC and is like a little laser. Can’t wait to try one in M4 and Magnacut. Starting at $120. This one is going out to to put through the paces and beat the snot out of.

8” OAL. 1.5” wide. Chisel grind set at 15°. Elmax steel.
While I am no expert at leatherwork, it split a dry piece of 11 ounce veg tan with no effort.
