How we got our name: Darling Dawn's Designs was a long thought process in the mind of a young, twenty-two year old college graduate. After the decision to try her hand at vintage/antique retail, Courtney spent weeks trying to think up the perfect name. English, French and Irish names were experimented with, but nothing had the ring of a cute boutique name that this business deserved. Courtney's mi
ddle name, Dawn popped into her mind very early one morning, and she immediately thought of Darling Dawn's. It sounded perfect, and it was; Dawn was darling. I, Courtney Dawn Jones, am named after my deceased infant second cousin, Dawn Yoder. When I was a little girl, I always thought it strange to be named after someone that I never knew and who was no longer alive. As I grew older, I learned to appreciate the way things live on through people- like Dawn, through me. When I thought of Darling Dawn's I instantly felt at ease. It was right, like it was meant to be. This is where Darling Dawn's Designs gets the inspiration to reuse and repurpose furniture, and household items. Each piece tells its own story. As a Christian based business primarily exposed to female clientele, Darling Dawn's chooses to promote the righteous living of a Proverbs 31 woman. Our goal is to promote modesty, wisdom, kindness, strength and dignity. Proverbs 31:25-26, "She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instruction with kindness." Darling Dawn's Designs strives to give each item its own personal touch, and truly make them "one of a kind."
