I’m not saying this should DEfINITELY be the official bump helmet of the Canadian military, but it probably should be…

I recently picked up some parts to customize another helmet, and then had som extra assessor it’s laying around… I also happened to have a Bauer 4500 helmet from my days playing hockey, so I figured I’d get to work making something awesome.

I pulled out the original foam padding and replaced it with a helmet pad set from . I also attached a spare NVG mount (also from HHV) taking care to keep the mount centered and not damage the helmet too much during installation.i’m still working on figuring out the side rails, but I’ll post an updated photo once that’s ready to go.

Well, hello there! I was recently afforded the opportunity to grab and try out one of ATE bump helmets, and I’ve been doing what I can to put this thing through its paces…

The first big test I’ve been able to put this thing through was using it at , held January 31st in Albrightsville, PA. The weather was brutally cold, there was a foot or more of snow on the ground, and there were 300 crazies running through the woods, so it was the perfect place to field test this brain bucket. Throughout the day, and into the night, the ATE remained secure and comfortable, keeping my noggin’ safe from tree branches, castle walls, and more than a couple airsoft bbs. My favorite feature, though, was the camfit chin strap buckle, because it was so easy to operate, even wearing gloves AND mittens at the same time.

Heading to at this weekend, hosted by my friends over at Productions, and I needed a way to carry a little more gear than a normal backpack would allow, but not quite as much as a full ruck. This conundrum mead me to create this beauty. Ever adaptable, and surprisingly comfortable, she should allow me to carry all the essentials and look good doing it.

If you’re modding gear and have those pesky threads hanging onto your latest , picking them with your fingers can be painful. Using tweezers is time consuming and just as bad… I use a school eraser to loosen stuck threads for easy removal.

Call it stupid if you want, but if FN makes it, it’s for the FAL. What you see here is an unfinished FN FAL-MG. Base is a JG FAL (heavy, easily upgraded, and built like a tank). The upper is from a parted-out para-length FAL, and the handguard is modified to fit solidly from a M249 Mk1. All airsoft, people. don’t take me, bro.

I’m not really one to shame a company whose annual net-revenue is more than I’ll make in my entire actual career, but charging £39.95 (that’s $54.23 as of posting) for this little contraption is outlandish as hell. Had a buddy ask my opinion on it, and to prove how ridiculous their price is, I made a version that will work just as well from only materials in my scrap bin, and I did it in 15 minutes, to include hand-cutting all the materials. Just because something is niche or has no other known competing designs doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be priced fairly.

Built this rig for based on another of his gear sketches. Designed a few updates into it as well. The pattern is obviously the newer version of from - probably my favorite of the civilian hunting camo patterns I’ve come across. The rig will hold 6 (that’s Six) rifle mags, either M4 or AK-patterned. Currently the retention is by bungee, but that can easily be removed and replaced with kydex inserts held secure by hook&loop inside every magazine pocket. Inside the large GP pouches there are organizers for shotgun shells of more loop to mount other organizers. Behind the main magazine carriage, there is a mesh-backed document pouch that, in “less permissive environments,” will fit a large sapi plate, held securely in place by included, pattern-matched panel. The neoprene-padded shoulder harness aids in stock stability by incorporating oiled leather padding and includes attachment hardware for field-mounting a daypack or quarry sack.

Having served in the Navy, I’ll take ALMOST any opportunity to poke fun at the Air Force… but I know enough zoomies to be aware of the tremendous good they do, so I’ll show my support as well. When asked to modify this specific flannel, I thought the effort would be worth it. What started as a standard “PJ Pararescue Flannel” from is now sporting some matched shoulder pockets for a more utilitarian outdoor work shirt. I was lucky enough to be able to find some very close-matching Velcro loop, and because I was so impressed with the original product, I reattached the maker’s tags from the donor shirt that became pockets. Now that she’s headed out the door, I think I might go ahead and buy one for myself - but I’ll keep it factory-stock… if you’re interested in purchasing a PJ Paratescue shirt, part of the proceeds from your purchase benefit the .foundation (https://www.pararescuefoundation.org), and you can buy them direct from Dixxon here: https://www.dixxon.com/pages/search-results?q=pararescue

Spent last weekend helping and members of build a highway by providing overwatch and support at Gun Gamers Productions . Got to finally use my home-built in an airsoft game and had a blast. I won’t personally be out for their next op, but the will, so if you fancy playing alongside or opposite some hotness, get your tickets now.

The power plant behind the M2 is a engine and dual air tank setup from .

I now have a belt kit. Inner-outer belt made for carrying loads with my newest airsoft build (details to come, eventually - come to and see for yourself)

Thanks to for making a shoulder harness that’s more comfortable than anything else I could put together.
