This one is gonna cause some bloodshed... BATTLE OF THE BANDS! Not albums, BANDS! 🎸🔥
We have a clash of two highly theatrical bands with some of the most devoted fans in the entire history of rock/metal: IRON MAIDEN VS GHOST!!!!
Iron Maiden is a heavy metal band that began life in Leyton, East London, led by bassist and primary songwriter Steve Harris. Iron Maiden were trailblazers in the British heavy metal movement, releasing a series of UK and US Platinum and Gold albums, including their 1980 eponymous debut album, and 1981's "Killers". Jay's very own horror movie and comic book fan, Devin, is a huge Iron Maiden fan and he personally selected 1982's Number of the Beast to represent them in this contest. He says their best song is "The Wicker Man" off their twelfth studio album "BRAVE NEW WORLD". 😈
In the other corner, we have Sweden's iconic Dark Pop Rock group, GHOST! Ghost began life in Linköping, in 2006, and for the last 20 years has released six studio albums, all achieving commercial and critical success as well as fostering a ferocious and bloodthirsty fandom. Much like it's opponent band, Ghost is heavily characterized by it's striking album art and intense stage presence, though older heads will argue their music doesn't quite match their dark imagery. That hasn't stopped them from becoming a true modern rock phenomenon however, and it's fan base is as loyal to their music as they are to their Dark Pope lead singer! 👻
