For those of you not on my personal page, you might have been wondering where I've been lately and if I'm still creating......

In January we (Steve and I) were told that his heart condition was worsening and he was in need of a heart transplant; however, he wasn't a candidate. His body then began rejecting his heart failure medications and he began having hypotensive episodes causing him to pass out. This resulted in an observation admission to adjust medications that turned into a month long ICU stay for my sweet husband and having an LVAD implanted. During his hospital confinement, I also had a minor out patient surgery in Springfield which meant lots of travel. Since the procedure he has been readmitted twice. Y'all, I put almost 4000 miles on my car in 6 weeks! We've also had to do some remodeling for safety reasons (almost finished with that). Needless to say, it's been a lot.

We are still learning and adjusting to life with an LVAD but we are incredibly thankful and blessed to be given more time together. Long story short, I am still creating just on a small scale until we get everything lined out and I have time to dedicate to my side gig. While the extra income is nice (especially in the midst of something like this) I am just not able to take on more. At this time I'm truly not comfortable committing to taking orders with all of the unknowns in my personal life. I'll be back at it soon. I am sharing a few pictures of our LVAD journey this far so you can have a sneak peek of life at the Breckenridge house. Thank you all for continuing to support me while I chase one of my dreams, being patient as I navigate through this and for your prayers and positive thoughts.

Tonight I went to put fresh flowers on Mike Kelly's grave and pick up his angel wings (to also put fresh flowers on those). Unfortunately, his angel wings were gone. Stolen...... like so many other gestures of love and remembrance. Through the years, I have had to stop leaving gifts for him but I thought, perhaps, no one would steal a flower arrangement. I was wrong. Naturally, I was angry, hurt and disappointed. I realize he is in Heaven; however, this is the place I, and many others, go to honor his memory and show our love.

Additionally, the gate for vehicles to drive into the cemetery was locked (as they have been for the past 2 years). Locked due to vandalism and theft. We need to do better. I was taught from a very early age that cemeteries are sacred places we must honor. They are not a place to steal, litter, drive recklessly or vandalize. As Mike would say, "it is mean-spirited".

When you deface a grave or steal from it, you are inflicting pain on those grieving. Grief NEVER goes away. Even when it isn't a raging fire it is always smoldering. We teach our children how to behave in a restaurant, in church, at school, etc. I am dumbfounded that so many in our society weren't taught cemetery etiquette. 💔
