Rooted the ancient times, Caucasia Region is represented by a wide variety of crafts such as jewelry making, engraving on metal, wood, stone and bone carving, carpet making, binding, pattern weaving and printing, knitting and embroidery. In his writings, Herodotus (4th Century B.C.) gave information about the development of carpet weaving in Azerbaijan Rug production. 2010, the Azerbaijani carpet was proclaimed a Masterpiece of Intangible Heritage by UNESCO.
Located in the East Azerbaijan, Quba is a capital for rug weaving. A very special piece, 17th Century Golu Chichi rug is on Display in Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
