Goodbye Century III Mall - and Good Riddance

Goodbye Century III Mall - and Good Riddance Century III Mall opened in 1979. It closed in 2018. IT WAS A SHOPPING MALL. Don't blame Moonbeam.

“Ongoing” is an understatement. Only 7 more years or so left in the Neiswonger Construction demolition grift.

Easily the disgraced, decaying, and decrepit Century III Mall. Everyone put their vote in for Century III.

“This is a space for people to share memories and stories about their mall experience.”

The problem is this all lip service. Most of the posts over there are irate finger pointing at a capital investment firm that had nothing to do with the downfall of their precious holy temple. I’m glad Moonbeam closed the access roads. Now only if Neiswonger Construction can pick up the pace and turn this place into an empty field of forgotten memories. And grieve? First off, it’s a MALL. South Hills Village is right down the road if you want to shop. Secondly, it’s already been closed for years and hasn’t even been a viable shopping mall since maybe 25 years ago? How much grieving do you LUNATICS need?

THE MALL IS GONE!

It’s crazy that people actually think Century III Mall was this thriving dominion of consumerism when Simon Malls dumped their property on the real victims, Moonbeam and Steve Maksin. Otherwise why would Simon Malls sell it for a discount. But once again, the experts of all financial decisions, Century III Mall Memories, are painting their anti Moonbeam slander with their insane delusions. I guarantee the moderators and any of the few fans still left over there, stopped going to that mall many years before Moonbeam purchased it. They’ve probably visited more times in the last year to take photos of broken concrete and broken memories.

This article is from a month ago, and kinda surprising that the radical “Century III Mall Memories” page is only addressing it now. Personally, we think Moonbeam and Maksin should sue them too for their daily slander about something they know nothing about. Not to mention, most of the followers of that account are paid bots and Moonbeam/Maksin aren’t going to take the time to go after an empty bag. I’m sure they laugh at them like everyone else.

All that wind last night probably blew the Christmas tree all the way to South Hills Village Mall, you know, one that’s actually open

The Century III Mall is celebrating the holidays one last time before it's torn down.

If you really believe this is the LAST Christmas tree at the decaying Century III Mall, then you're only kidding yourself. It's already on record from Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that Neiswonger Construction is going to be milking this demolition project well into 2026 (and you know it will probably take longer), so I'm sure this time next year we will be subjected to the "due to popular demand" posts for round 2 of this insanity. And speaking of popular demand, KDKA-TV | CBS Pittsburgh seemed impressed that the Memories page has 30,000 followers. Where were they? That parking lot should've been packed today, especially since there's more parking spots now due to part of the mall being knocked down.
