!!!SAVE THE DATES!!!

Spring officially starts this weekend, but get these Summer events on your calendars now! Summertime is one of our favorite times of the season, because it means we get to leave the nursery and participate in some of the local community events. This year we were lucky enough to be invited back to a few!

🐝 Pollinator Week 🐝:
Thursday, June 25th from 4-7pm at the Mary S. Young Pollinator Garden. We’ll be making pollinator seed bombs with the kids, and talking all about pollinator-friendly plants and where you can get them 🤓.

🔨 Parr Lumber Deck Building Event 🔨:
Saturday, June 27th at the West Linn Parr Lumber. If you’re looking to build a deck this year, or maybe you just like talking about decks, and you want all the contractors you might need in one place, this is the event for you. We’ll be there showing off possibilities for finishing touches once your deck is fully built! We didn’t have a flier to share for this one, so there’s Theo on ‘his’ deck.

🎡 West Linn Old Time Fair 🎡:
July 10th-12th at Willamette Park. Rides, games, live entertainment, food carts, amazing vendors, and then us! We’ll be right in the middle of it all, with flowers to talk about and maybe even a game of our own!

We’re looking forward to these future events but in the meantime, Spring starts tomorrow and the weather is pretty great, so come and see us in the garden!

Strawberry starts are in! You’ll also find herbs and cold crop veggie starts in the greenhouse, along with several other goodies. Some of the azaleas are just opening up, the pieris are loaded with draping blooms, and all of the rhododendrons are getting ready to POP. The days are getting a little longer, the nights a little warmer, and you know we can’t wait to see you in the garden!

♻️ REDUCE REUSE RECYCLE ♻️

What do you do when the planting is done and you’re left with all those plastic pots and garden tags? You bring them back to us! We recently put together a recycling project, and we’re excited to share the details with you:

Now you can REDUCE your total cost by $0.25 per carry out receptacle that you bring back to use at checkout. Please note, they do not have to be Stafford Ridge Nursery trays.

We were able to REUSE some leftover pallets to build a plastic pot drop zone at one end of the parking lot. It isn’t excessively pretty, but it is pretty useful. Bring us your empty plastic pots!

You can also now RECYCLE all of your leftover garden tags at the cashier station when you stop in. Let’s see how many we can get!

It’s finally felt a little bit wintry outside this week. Theo has even had to wear his sweater a couple times, but that doesn’t stop us! Our tables are gradually filling up as more and more plants come pouring off the trucks, and all the fresh foliage and colors have really brightened things up around the nursery. We’re excited that the season is picking up! This week’s deliveries brought:

🌷Spring bulbs - tulips, hyacinth and narcissus
🌷Rhododendron
🌷English daisies
🌷Lily of the Nile
🌷Daphne odora ‘Perfume Princess’

Unlike other varieties, ‘Perfume Princess’ has noticeably larger flowers, and typically has a longer blooming period.

Like other Daphne, ‘Perfume Princess’ shrubs prefer well-draining soil, and to be planted in a full-sun to partially shady spot. They can grow up to 4 feet high by 3 feet wide, and need to be watered regularly. It is best to fertilize them in Spring, after they have finished blooming.

Stay tuned, we have a couple of different updates we’re excited to share with you next week! We can’t wait to see you in the garden!

RUNunculus in to get some ranunculus and anenomes! While you’re here you can check to see if Theo is on any of the tables, or if Beignet is flitting in and out of the hellebores. Don’t forget to smell the daphnes while they’re in bloom too!

Also, if you’re looking to fall in love with your patio again, check to see if there’s anything you like in our pottery section. The receiving team just got it all color blocked and set up for the season. And starting this weekend, all pottery is 20% off!

We can’t wait to see you in the garden!
