This week’s first read had to be Absolute Catwoman 1.

Absolute Batman has been my favorite ongoing series, so there was no way I was waiting long to dive into Selina’s story.

Cortado on the table. New comics in the stack. Exactly where I want to be.

This one is absolutely gorgeous. The purple and pink foil treatment on this cover is stunning in person, and DNA absolutely crushed it.

I actually picked this one up and got it signed by David Nakayama himself at New York Comic Con, so it’s always a little bittersweet when one of these leaves the collection.

But this book found the right home.

Whether you’re an X-Men fan, a Gambit fan, or a David Nakayama fan, this is one heck of a display piece.

Packed safely and securely and headed to its new owner.

Congrats to the new owner!

This issue has been quietly gaining momentum, and it’s easy to see why. The entire Abomination storyline was a blast - fast-paced, action-packed, and laced with some incredible moments.

And this cover? One of my favorites from the arc.

The Absolute Universe continues to prove why it’s one of the hottest things in comics right now, and collectors are still actively hunting down these earlier issues.

Congrats to the new owner!

One thing I love about selling books like this is that it’s not just a key issue, it’s a genuinely great read.

The Abomination arc gave us the origin of Absolute Bane, and I thought it was one of the strongest storylines in the series so far. This version of Bane feels every bit as dangerous and intimidating as you’d want him to be.

Absolute Batman continues to be one of my favorite books on the shelves, and this issue is a big reason why.

Comics & Coffee vibes at 📚☕

Quite possibly the best coffee shop in Hartford… and definitely one of my favorites in Connecticut.

Good people. Great coffee. Great atmosphere.

This session’s reading list included:

• Co**se Knight 1 (straight banger — already subscribed to the series)
• Escape 7 (another excellent issue with some twists I didn’t see coming)
• Batwoman 3

…and a few other books from the stack

Also got to spend the afternoon reading comics and hanging with Pops while he worked his magic behind the camera.

Days like this are what Comics & Coffee is all about.

Maybe pull up for the next one. Bring a comic. Coffee’s on me.

One of my favorite parts of Comics & Coffee is discussing what everyone is reading.

This time, Pops talked about 1776, a comic where superheroes travel back in time and cross paths with the Founding Fathers.

Crazy a$$ concept.

The catch: they have to be careful not to change history, because even the smallest decision could have major consequences for the timeline.

Comics really can turn any idea into a story.

📚☕️ What’s the wildest comic book premise you’ve ever heard?

One of the books I’m most excited to catch up on is Hyde Street 12.

After a brief hiatus, Hyde Street is finally back, and I couldn’t leave this one on the shelf. Picked up the main cover and a really cool variant featuring Pranky with some great use of negative space.

If you’re not reading Hyde Street yet, you’re missing out on one of the most creative horror books on the shelves right now.

The best way I can describe it? If you love classic episodes of The Twilight Zone, you’ll probably love Hyde Street.

Great concepts. Great atmosphere. Great characters.

Can’t wait to dive into this one.
