I have friends in the northeast Columbia area who are downsizing and wish to sell their partially refurbished 1923 Knabe baby grand. In its recent past, it has been refinished, new Keytops, and new hammers installed in the last 15 years. I did not do the work on this particular piano however it is in serviceable condition and despite its age, looks and plays well and holds pitch. The soundboard and bridges are in good shape. Their price is $1500 and I will help with transportation if needed.

Finally posting photos of the most recent customer rebuild in shop. 1941 Knabe Grand: Abel Lite series hammers & new shanks, restrung with Mapes wire and nickel blued tuning pins. Plate refinished. New dampers and French polish soundboard. Light whitening on original ivory keytops, fresh key bushings, regulated to .400 key dip and regulated very nicely averaging 51g touch weight. Next on the list is 1926 Steinway M in medium walnut and 1979 Baldwin R in mahogany (both will be for sale mid-2021)

Just finished up repairs and tuning for a customer with a Kimball Player piano. The player pianos can be challenging to work on. This one works good and now sounds a whole lot better!
Saturday morning challenge accepted.

After being on the list for over two years, This week I joined three other excellent technicians at Steinway & Sons piano factory in New York, learning many finer points of Steinway piano regulation for touch and tone. We studied with Kent Webb, the Manager of Technical Service and Support of S&S and spent time with the workers of the factory. This is truly a special place to experience. Fascinating culture and craft in building the iconic all-American piano. Can't wait to organize and review tons of notes, drawings, and ideas from the time spent here. What a great week!
